School for Advanced Studies (SAS) is a nationally recognized collegiate high school of excellence, a combined effort between Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) and Miami Dade College (MDC). Students attending SAS complete their last two years of high school (11th and 12th grade) while they obtain a two-year Associate in Arts degree from Miami Dade College. The opportunity for acceleration and enrichment attracts motivated and academically talented students. SAS takes pride in its diverse student population, nurturing learning environment, and commitment in providing all students with a rich and rigorous liberal arts education with many of its students specializing in STEM. School for Advanced Studies provides a uniquely supportive transition between secondary and post-secondary education.
School for Advanced Studies is located on five campuses of Miami Dade College (Homestead, Kendall, North in Hialeah, West in Doral, and Wolfson in downtown Miami). SAS is a public high school which is part of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools district and was recently recognized by U.S. News and World Report and the “Best High School in Florida” and the “Fifth Best High School in the United States.”
Our high school faculty is comprised of dedicated and growth mindset-oriented professionals who understand the value of life-long learning: 81% hold advanced degrees. Our entire college faculty hold an advanced degree in the discipline in which they teach.
