Where do I begin describing the impact that SAS has had on my life? The second I stepped onto SAS for the fall term, I knew I had made the right choice for me. However, I did not know the sheer extent of that impact on my life. The fall semester of my junior year was the first time I had done dual enrollment, so I was expectedly nervous about the rigor and courseload that a school like SAS demanded. Now SAS was by no means easy, but through this experience, I realized I was capable of more than I thought I was. It also taught me how to branch out, ask for help, and provide help when needed. It significantly encouraged me to keep preserving when I saw the grand aspirations and goals my peers had for themselves.

The family and community at SAS are truly like no other. I will admit that it took me a while to open up to the people around me and take full advantage of the resources I was given. However, the community there helped me open up by providing a supportive and welcoming environment that I often think is missed in other schools and spaces. I can genuinely say I have met some of the nicest, most generous, and most thoughtful people at SAS that I feel like I’ve known for longer than the two years I’ve attended it. Not only do the students themselves help make this happen, but also the caring staff that I could tell are passionate about what they do and want to see me succeed.

I have made numerous memories at SAS that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Although SAS requires dedication and determination, it rewards you for that through various activities such as ice skating, bowling, and many senior events. Something I do appreciate about my peers is that they worked hard to put on events for the benefit of the whole school, which I have taken part in. I had so much fun during my two years that I am sad that it is coming to an end, but one thing that has stuck out to me about SAS is that although it is a two-year-long experience, that experience’s impact and opportunities will continue for a lifetime.
